Alexander Dugin: Third World War Has Never Been So Close

The globalist US leadership obviously cannot rule the whole world and, what’s more, the threat posed by Trump puts their control over America itself into question. Now, while the puppet Barack Obama is still in office and the globalist candidate Hillary Clinton is falling apart in front of American voters’ very eyes, is the last chance to start a war. This would allow them to postpone elections or force Trump, if he were to win, to begin his presidency in catastrophic conditions. Thus, the US neoconservatives and globalists need war. And fast, before it’s too late. If Trump gets into the White House when there will be peace, then there will be no such war, at least for the foreseeable future. And this would spell the end of the omnipotence of the maniacal globalist elites.

Thus, everything at this point is very, very serious. NATO’s ideologues and the US globalists falling into the abyss need war right now – before the American elections. War against us. Not so much for victory, but for the process itself. This is the only way for them to prolong their dominance and divert the attention of Americans and the whole world from their endless series of failures and crimes. The globalists’ game has been revealed. Soon enough, they’ll have to step down from power and appear before court. Only war can save their situation.

The fatality of the situation lies in that, if Washington decides to opt for war now, then we cannot avoid it. If they will insist and repeat the September 17th situation again and again, then we will have to either accept the challenge and go to war, or knowingly admit defeat.

In this situation, the outcome of the struggle for peace which is, as always, fully in our interests, does not depend on us. We really need peace, to buy time until November 8th, and then everything will be much easier. But will the collapsing colossus allow us this time?

God forbid that this happens. But those who could pray prayed on the eve of the First and Second World War. In any case, our goal is always and only victory. Our victory.

The Americans our bombing our guys. A Third World War has never been so close.

Whether the election is postponed, or Trump wins, or Hillary, the Western elites want World War sometime in the next few months or the next few years.

Our best chances lie with the genius of Putin to prevent the war, as he did our intervention in Syria, and the election of Donald Trump to possibly thwart the elites’ foreign policy. Possibly.

Without divine mercy, the odds of avoiding the war are low.

We in the West deserve to be thrashed.

Nevertheless, if the war must happen, may God thrash us most mercifully.


Gag!: The White Cucks of South Africa

Patulcius-sqSmarmy articles occasionally appear in the mainstream South African press advising the country’s whites to “show courage”, to “open up about white privilege”, to “seek redemption”, etc. Often such articles are written by whites themselves.

A white South African writer named Chris Waldburger recently wrote an article, published at News24, offering six pieces of advice to his fellow whites on how they can best hunker down to avoid inciting the righteous wrath of their black compatriots.

Here are six things I believe we need to accept as white South Africans if we are going to move past anger and fear towards being part of a decent, good, and united South Africa:

1. Quotas and BEE are not going anywhere. It’s a part of life now. Stop complaining. I used to think these things were absolutely crazy but now I wonder if Mbeki and the like were not onto something by being hell-bent on creating a black middle class. A middle class is so crucial to so many good things going right in a society that government almost needs to to do whatever it takes to create one. So many of my white friends are set up in business because of who they know and who they are related to. BEE, in its intentions, is not morally inferior to that everyday nepotism from which so many of us benefit.

2. The damaging effects of the social engineering of colonialism and apartheid are going to stay with us for a long time. There is a reason education is better in poorer African countries than ours – we systematically destroyed our social structures to ensure cheap labour, and education is so difficult to do in the wake of social chaos. Fixing this is going to take time.

3. The poor’s problems need to take precedence over the wealthy. Massive inequality is like cancer. It will destroy our society. Taking care of the poor is the best way to take care of ourselves. If you are outsourcing jobs to save bucks, or cutting any corners in your work to avoid helping people, you are only screwing yourself, and your business or enterprise probably deserves to fail.


The Rhodes Must Fall movement in South Africa has plenty of token young, white race traitors. They are unwitting victims who enthusiastically dig their own graves and chastise their own families for refusing to participate. For their sake, it will be almost fun to watch these students driven from the country or slaughtered. After all, isn’t the very presence of these whites in South Africa a symbol of white colonialism?

4. Not being considered important can be a great blessing. It means you learn to be self-reliant. (Clem Sunter notes white Afrikaners have been particularly successful in business since 1994 because they knew they needed to launch their own enterprises.) It means you have an accurate view of reality, and you don’t become dependent on conditions which could suddenly change. Yes, life for white people in the 50s and 60s worldwide was probably better – at a terrible moral cost. But the general western prosperity of that era was an anomaly, an afterglow of the postwar boom. Life has always been dangerous and unfair. But that doesn’t mean you can’t be happy. And happiness is easier if you have accepted that ultimately you are responsible for yourself.

5. We do live in a land of opportunity. Yes, the government is terrible. But we are not a depressing nanny state either. The way society is moving, I honestly believe government should start to matter less and less as it loses its hold on rapid technological innovation. Our country is still dynamic. You always hear of Europeans and Americans just being so bored in their country. We have a chance to build something here in this country, something that is not just material, but a model of a society. I just meet too many inspiring and gracious young South Africans, of all races, not to believe we can do something together. I promise you, the criminals and the corrupt are the minority. Look past to see all the people of goodwill.

6. We still need to be realistic. SA is a tough, violent place. We must take care of ourselves and each other. Minimize risks,  but don’t shut yourself up in a shell of anxiety. Re-claim public spaces as public spaces. Look out for the women and children who are so vulnerable. Yes, there are parts of South Africa that are sheer hell. Yes, there is a disgusting and horrifying amount of violence. But as Bobby Kennedy said, in the midst of America’s Vietnam debacle, its spiralling crime rate, and in the era of Martin Luther King’s, his brother’s, and even his own impending assassination, “We have to be optimistic, just because there is no other way… We can’t go on, but we must go on.” That’s our country – we can’t go on but we must go on.

South Africans are not done yet. We invented the Creepy Crawly; we did the first heart transplant; we have Dale Steyn and Wayde van Niekerk; we have the best beaches; we still say hello to each other in the street; and a boerewors roll and a Castle is better than any European cuisine.

Fellow whites, it’s time to hustle; it’s time to keep the faith.

It’s not too late to make things right.

No doubt this Waldburger is a very kind and compassionate fellow, but his advice has more to do with “don’t worry, be happy” than with addressing the long-term reality of life for whites in South Africa.

This Waldburger epitomizes the word cuck. He believes that compassion and kindness and self-abasement will appease the blacks in his midst. He refuses to see that the blacks, as a mob, will exterminate him and other whites from the land if current trends continue.

Yet, Waldburger’s opinions seem to represent the norm for South African whites. For years I’ve searched for dissident white South African voices, and they are few. The vast majority express politically correct drivel, wanting to go along and get along with everyone. Even most Afrikaners, a people forged in South Africa, have rejected the concept of their nation as a unit, as something to foster and preserve.

It’s easier to understand this masochistic mindset in Europe, Australasia, and the United States, where plenty of affluent whites can espouse their lofty ideals within their “diverse”, 25%-vibrant (or less) offices and suburban neighborhoods. Diversity to them is still a case of token minorities and ethnic food. Their identities don’t seem immediately threatened. Minority-status is still a vague abstraction to them—at most.

But in South Africa?

Never having visited South Africa, it is very difficult for me to imagine living constantly as one of a resented, “privileged” minority living at the mercy of restless blacks. Each day more rapes and thefts and murders.

Do the whites of South Africa, in their overwhelming guilt and fear, merely say these cuckish things to deflect any potential hatred? Do they whisper the truth to one another behind closed doors?

Surely they must see the inherent dangers that surround them, living as they do behind their razor fences, guard dogs, and security systems.

Yet they continue to express this kak.

It Only Took One Riot for China to Quietly Remove Their African Migrants

American Renaissance shares a CNN article that bemoans the exodus of African migrants from China:

Emmanuel Ojukwu, the self-proclaimed Head of Africans in China, and the ambassador of the Nigerian community — one of the largest African groups in Guangzhou — is despondently spread out on a sofa inside a clothing warehouse, where the halls are eerily devoid of customers.

“So many people went home at Christmas and did not return,” he says.

The true scale of the African population in Guangzhou is hard to ascertain due to the itinerant nature of many traders — some enter and exit the city multiple times per year — and the thousands who overstay their visas.

Castillo believes the Chinese government itself has no accurate idea of the African population’s size, although at the height of the Ebola crisis in late 2014, it said just 16,000 Africans called the city home.

The streets of Little Africa certainly seem quieter than when I first visited 2 years ago.

“There is, indeed, an apparent lessening number of Africans in the city,” says Gordon Matthews, a professor of anthropology at the Chinese University of Hong Kong, who has studied globalization in Guangzhou.

In 2013, China updated its legislation governing foreigners — the Exit-Entry Administration Law — for the first time since 1986.

Africans who had lived in Guangzhou for years, paid taxes there, fed Chinese-run factories and warehouses with business, and perhaps even married a Chinese national, hoped the reforms would offer them a path to genuine residency.

“It was very disappointing,” says Castillo. “Very vague, and very similar to the 1986 law. The message was: you’re foreigners, it’s not going to be easy.” The only clear changes were harsher penalties for those who overstay visas and work illegally.

In 2014, the government embarked on the “beautification” of Dengfeng, disrupting life for many residents.

This year-long upgrade tore down signage celebrating foreign trade, banned street markets that had been the area’s lifeblood, widened and resurfaced roads and introduced a heavy police presence.

Diallo says police check Africans’ passports from dawn ’til dusk, at their homes, hotel rooms and on the streets, a story corroborated by Matthews.

“Look around the world,” says Mwamba,”you will see Chinatowns, even in Africa. But here they don’t want foreigners to be together here, to do things the way the Chinese do them overseas.”

Since the renovations, the majority of Africans have left this part of Little Africa, either moving to other areas of the city or out of China for good, leaving the once vibrant streets bare.

After 13 years in China, he is ready to go home. This is not a retreat — more a decision to use his know-how where it’s needed most.

“Everyone wants to go back to their own African country and start something,” he says. “We’ve learned here about small factories, trade.

“We should return home and apply that knowledge.”

Yes, Mwamba, you should. Your nation needs you more than the Chinese do.

The CNN article blames the emigration from China on a slowing Chinese economy and Chinese racism. But they conveniently forget the 2012 riots in Guangzhou, or “Chocolate City” as the CNN article so romantically called it.

This June 19, 2012 Business Insider article describes the riot:

According to Chinese sources cited in Western media, more than 100 migrants in the city of Guangzhou held a protest that stopped traffic today. The protests reportedly began after an African migrant died in police custody on Monday following a disagreement over the sale of an electric bicycle.

These scenes wouldn’t look out of place in Africa, in inner-city America, or in the “chocolate cities” of Europe.

Unlike the Americans and Europeans, however, China got one taste of black rioting and they decided to crack down on migrants in 2013 with the Exit-Entry Administration Law. And now they launch a “beautification” of their city. A brilliantly subtle plan on the part of the Chinese with a clever and funny name.

Brexit: Maybe Elections Are Somewhat Fair After All; Or Are They?

150708-van-NiekirkCongratulations to the peoples of Britain for their vote to secede from the EU. Huzzah and Bravo!

And out of those almost-half who voted to remain, the foreign-descended should leave voluntarily. (And let us hope that a sovereign England at least boots out the foreign-born and their children.)

Any step against globalism is a plus.

The Brexit vote does give cause for a cynic to question whether elections are rigged or not.

Before the past year I had figured, almost without question, that world elites would never allow little things like fair and free elections to stand in the way of their agendas. If the elites can’t manipulate the people to vote their way, then they can always miscount the votes. Hook or crook, eh?

But the success of Donald Trump in the Republican primaries and now the Brexit vote has made me question that premise.

Trump squeaked by in the Missouri vote by only 1700 votes. How difficult would that contest have been to steal? If the elections are a total farce, and if the elites don’t really want Trump as the nominee, then we just about have to conclude that the elites don’t totally control the outcome of elections, right?

Likewise with Brexit. Polls taken just before the vote showed the Against side as trending slightly victorious. Manipulated polls or not, no one would have questioned the outcome of a stolen vote. So if the elites oppose the Brexit, why didn’t they steal the election?

We must conclude one of two things: either that the outcomes of these elections are not entirely corrupt after all and that the elites can’t always change these unwanted outcomes, or that elites do steal crucial elections and that the outcomes of the Brexit vote and the Republican primaries were declared according to the will of the elites!


If the elites don’t want Trump or the Brexit, then they must not control the elections. However, if they do control the elections, what then?

Why would the elites want Donald Trump as the Republican nominee? Why might they want him as president? Why would they want Great Britain to destabilize the EU? Why would they want a refugee crisis in the West?

Why, on the day after the Brexit vote, are people so concerned all of the sudden that Vladimir Putin might somehow gain from this?

War is coming, that’s why.

As I said months ago, the stage is still being set for World War III. It’s hard to tell who’s in on the nefarious plan. The puppeteers are probably very few in number but very powerfully rich.

But just as Japan couldn’t resist the juicy target of so many American ships sleeping along the piers of Pearl Harbor, the West is making juicy targets of a weakened, trans-sexual US military and a chaotic and divided European Union. Much like the US first reduced its sales of oil to Japan in 1940, then cut them off entirely in July of 1941 (only five months before the Pearl Harbor attack), the Saudi’s continue to flood the world with cheap oil on which the Russian economy depends.

Who knows how the elites plan to force Russia to take the first strike in a nuclear conflagration?


Already struggling under sanctions and cheap oil prices, how will the scheming West goad Putin to make the first strike?

If the elites can blame the next world war on a resurgence of those awful, backward notions of nationalism and racism, embodied in buffoonish villains like Putin and Donald Trump and the heady irresponsibility of the English nativists, then the surviving people of the world will shake the ashes out of their hair and gladly submit to the shackles of world government with its promise that it will prevent another devastating holocaust.

Events do seem to be trending this way.

But who really knows? It might really be that the elections aren’t entirely corrupt after all. Maybe.

Aleksandr Dugin Gives Fascinating Assessment of Russia’s Current Geopolitical Situation

Janus-smallAleksandr Dugin is a Russian nationalist who openly calls for the restoration of some form of Greater Russia that would dominate an even greater alliance of nations called Eurasia.  His views have influenced Russia to a significant, if debatable, extent. While he is supposedly part of Putin’s circle of advisers, he has openly expressed his anger and frustration with Putin’s foreign policy, saying it isn’t aggressive enough.

Neocons warn us that Dugin is a fascist or imperialist, saying that he wants to restore Russian influence over the former Soviet Union, that he is the evil mastermind behind the rise of the new Hitler—Vladimir Putin—who will start World War III. Perhaps the Neocons are right in some ways, though the Neocons act as though the West is simply an innocent princess working for peace and freedom rather than another contestant in a world power game.

One thing is certain: Aleksandr Dugin has an influential vision for Russia, and NATO stands directly in the way of that vision. It need not be the case; the West could work with Russia, particularly against Muslim terrorists, but the powers-that-be would rather have us destroy one another as we did in two previous world wars.

In any case, Dugin is a very intelligent geo-political philosopher with a fascinating vision for his country. Frankly, he is a little frightening, which only adds to the fascination.

Below are excerpts of an interview he gave to Novorossiya, translated to English at Fort Russ:

After nearly a year of silence, Alexander Gelyevich discussed the current results of the Russian Spring, the war in Syria, and the inevitability of a final battle in Donbass in an exclusive interview with “Novorossiya.” [. . .]

[. . .] I’ll repeat once more: the Russian Spring is a requirement of our Russian historical existence. Russia will either be great, or will not be at all. Great Russia – this is not only a territory or expansion, as we do don’t need anything else. And I’m not against the existence of a sovereign Ukraine, if only it would be our ally or partner or, in the least, a neutral, intermediate space. We would like to be together in one state, but on this the citizens of Ukraine must decide. But what exactly shouldn’t be allowed is an Atlanticist occupation of Ukraine. This is a geopolitical axiom. Our enemies perfectly understand that Russia can become great again only together with Ukraine, either unified or having built some kind of balanced alliance. There is no other way. The Russian Spring is impossible without a Eurasian pivot in Ukraine, no matter what form, peaceful or not, that it takes. [. . .]

[. . .] I’ll explain. As we see in Afghanistan, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan, and even in the North Caucasus, trends towards an increase in the influence of ISIS are growing. And if we were not fighting ISIS in Syria, then we would have to do it in Central Asia and then, perhaps, on the territory of the Russian Federation. 

This is the plan of the Americans. Islamic fundamentalism has traditionally been an instrument in the structure of American and Atlanticist geopolitics, and this is an obvious point. The Islamic State is an American special operation directed against the opponents of American hegemony in the Middle East, and this includes (and is primarily) against us. 

When we, at the request of Assad, invaded Syria, we once again returned to history, again appealing to the diastole of the Russian heart. This comes after a stupor, Minsk, indecision, hesitation, trade offs, and a dubious tug of war. After a bloody pause.

Look at what is happening now. We are fighting against the essence of the pro-American, crypto-Atlanticist, fundamentalist sect that is ISIS, in order to inflict a blow on it as far away as possible from our borders. Otherwise, we will fight with them here. This indicates the presence of a strategic, geopolitical conscience among the leadership of the country, and this is encouraging. Support for Assad is also a part of the Russian Spring, the assertion of Russia as a subject, not an object of history, a gesture towards strengthening our sovereignty. [. . .]

[. . .] Another point. The fact of our military support for Assad in Syria, although real and effective, is still without a guaranteed result (the immediate results are generally very impressive and positive). Therefore, the Americans are vitally interested in an escalation of hostilities in Donbass in order to make the whole situation more difficult for us. And anyway, Poroshenko, who received little support in recent elections in Ukraine, is interested in the same. For him, the war is now the only way to maintain power.

The war in Donbass will be imposed on us by Washington and Kiev. Not we, but they, despite the Minsk agreements and our attempts to get out of direct confrontation by any means, will launch hostilities. Accordingly, we return to the point which I interrupted with a commentary on events.

As I predicted, the situation cannot have another solution other than the defense of Novorossiya from the pro-American, neo-Nazi junta, which was a junta and remains a junta, and whose neck it is time to snap. Sooner or later, we will return to Novorossiya. Of course, it’s already late, but not critically late. He who controls the border of the DPR and LPR with Russia controls everything. [. . .]

[. . .] Our bet is not to allow the Ukrainians to impose war on us and not give them the opportunity to take control of the border. This is the main indicator: as long as the republics of Novorossiya control the border, the situation can more or less be characterized as normal, but if it’s given up, then this will be a fully fundamental failure.

Much is being decided now and history is again open. We haven’t resolved the issue of Novorossiya, and have merely postponed its resolution. It reminds us of ourselves. Accordingly, the Minsk Agreements, which we will try to hold on to, will be gradually destroyed and abolished in different ways. We will see soon. [. . .]

[. . .] It’s necessary to recognize a simple truth: they won’t leave us alone, and it its best to recognize this immediately. History is always a choice, often a choice in the face of death. The average person runs away from this and tries to barricade himself from problems, but if a government behaves like a layman, then this government is transitory. History begins when the top of the vertical power takes an existential – historic – decision, and this means looking death straight in the face.

It’s possible to try and run away, but history catches up to us no matter what and there are signs that she’s catching up with us. We at least cannot leave Syria without victory. And if they challenge us and rip up the Minsk Agreements in Donbass, then we will need not one victory but two. And I am sure that we are quite ready for this and we can do it. But we need to give up the politics of half a glass. 

The Media Ridicules Street Preacher Silenced by Bagpiper and Police

Patulcius-sqSeveral British news sites have covered a story about an ‘anti-gay preacher’ whose loud street sermon is drowned out by a young bagpiper before police arrive to silence the preacher.  The media’s tone is much like that found in amusing human interest stories about streakers at football games or kids getting stuck in claw machines.  These stories are meant to be light-hearted and uncontroversial.  In the U.K., it has become light-hearted and uncontroversial to mock Bible-believing street preachers.

A homophobic preacher met his match ‘in the most Scottish way possible’ when his hate-filled speech was deliberately drowned out by a young bagpiper to the delight of passing shoppers.

The hilarious incident took place on Market Street in the Scottish town of St Andrews yesterday and was caught on camera by one of those watching the unusual scene unfold – the clip has since been viewed more than two million times.

The unnamed ‘preacher’ was armed with a microphone and notes when he took to the town’s main street and began ranting that same-sex marriage has ‘ruined the economy.’


The young bagpipe player, who is out of shot, can be heard approaching the scene before he appears in the corner of the screen.

While the young busker attracts a small crowd with his musical prowess, the ranting man has an audience conspicuous by their absence throughout the footage.

Then the young man, playing Scotland the Brave the entire time, slowly walks towards the preacher and begins following him around, managing to completely drown out his bigoted spiel.

As the preacher attempts to edge away from the young bagpiper he continues his slow and steady approach, applauded by cheers and whoops of approval from passing shoppers.

Then, shortly before the video cuts out, a passing police van pulls over and an officer beckons to the preacher to come over and speak to them.


Then the young man (pictured in a blue t-shirt), playing Scotland the Brave the entire time, slowly walks towards the preacher and begins following him around, managing to completely drown out his bigoted rant

As the preacher attempts to edge away from the young bagpiper he continues his slow and steady approach

Shortly before the video cuts out a passing police van pulls over and an officer beckons to the preacher

The young bagpiper, clearly satisfied with a job well done, then completes his victory lap around the street’s fountain before returning to his original spot.

The young man has been roundly congratulated by users on social media for his excellent use of musical resistance.

One wrote: ‘Was there today when that happened. Preacher was yelling scripture while condemning everyone and people literally just ignored him.

‘A few managers from restaurants came out of their shops to tell him to shut up but of course microphone and amp reigns supreme… until…BAGPIPES!’

Liam Compton wrote: ‘Some heroes don’t wear capes.’

Joe Walsh joked: ‘That’s one way to get the guy to pipe down.’

Lachie Blair, who posted the video on Facebook, added the piper won this battle ‘in the most Scottish way possible’.


In a way I understand why the people would cheer.  In the video footage, the preacher is difficult to understand and he seems to lack savvy in connecting with his audience.  It seems doubtful that the lost would even hear his message.  On the other hand, how many Old Testament prophets seem to exhort their audiences in similar fashion?

In any case, it is terrible that the police arrived to silence him.  I couldn’t get any information on what happened to the preacher afterward, whether he was arrested or not.  Britain has a recent history of arresting such street preachers if their message could offend sexual deviants or foreigners, though many of these were later found innocent.

British ‘hate crime’ laws fall under the Public Order Act of 1986, which has been amended several times to outlaw activities that could stir up racial, religious, or sexually oriented hatred.  Theoretically the law allows a measure of free speech and expression by only penalizing those who show an actual intent to cause “harassment, alarm or distress” by using “[(a),] threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour, or disorderly behaviour, or (b) displays any writing, sign or other visible representation which is threatening, abusive or insulting”.

A 2013 amendment removed the word “insulting” from the law, and this seems to have eliminated some of the arrests, if not the societal disdain for traditional Christianity.

As traditional Christianity becomes increasingly rare and counter-cultural in Western nations, expect more crack-downs on those who continue to espouse or express our Faith in public.  Society doesn’t tolerate dissidents, and we have rapidly fallen into that category.

Awakening in South Africa: Campus Unrest Expressed in the ‘Open Stellenbosch’ and ‘Rhodes Must Fall’ Protest Movements

Patulcius-sqBlack students across South Africa are suddenly angry over their lack of authority over their country’s universities:

The protesters’ rallying cry is the need to “decolonize” the university. They are calling for more black faculty members, continued affirmative action policies to increase the number of black students, and a curriculum that is less Eurocentric and more African-oriented.

“It’s a combination of national, political unresolved issues and the students’ own personal search for issues of identity and meaning,” said Xolela Mangcu, an associate professor of sociology at the university and one of the national leaders in the debate over transformation in higher education. . . .

. . . Here at the University of Cape Town, widely considered the continent’s best institution of higher learning, discontent among black students had been brewing for years. But the recent protests here — as well as elsewhere in the country — were set off by an unusual act of defiance.

In March, a student threw excrement at a statue of Cecil Rhodes, the British imperialist who donated land to the university. Students here and elsewhere call their movement “Rhodes Must Fall.”

The statue, at the heart of the campus, had long been the object of student protests. But things were different this time.

Dr. Max Price, the vice chancellor of the university, said he had been surprised by the enduring reaction against the statue, given that earlier demonstrations had fizzled.

“It tapped into — and a statue was a perfect way of articulating — the sense of alienation that black students feel on this campus,” he said. “The culture of the place feels white. The architecture is a European, Oxbridge architecture. Obviously, the language of instruction is English. The culture of what’s held up to be excellent universities and excellent science, and what we emulate and aspire to be, are the Ivy League universities and European universities.” . . .

. . . The movement has held together, at least for now. The students realized their first goal by pressing the university to remove the statue of Rhodes. A few days later, though, students woke up to see that a shadow had been painted on the ground, as if cast by the fallen monument.

Students in the mostly Afrikaner Stellenbosch University also demand that the traditionally Afrikaans-dominated school teach more classes in English or African languages and increase the number of black students and staff.  They’ve created Open Stellenbosch to advance these goals, and their documentary Luister shows the interviews of a bandwagon of whining students who feel oppressed by the school.


Blacks demand more control of South African institutions, but they expect whites to keep paying for them.

Why are these protests happening now?

Young black people in South Africa born after—or shortly before—1994 see no value in the compromises that Mandela and his ANC won from F. W. de Klerk and the National Party to end white rule.  Blacks at the time got almost everything they wanted, and middle income whites got screwed, but the black leaders were wise enough to know that they needed whites to run the economy and the university system.  That truce has more or less held ever since, and South Africa remains the second most prosperous country in sub-Saharan Africa (after Nigeria).

But now young blacks demand a greater share of the economy and the university system, seeing the current system as unfair.  South Africa is an overwhelmingly black African country after all, so perhaps they have a point.  In fact, it’s a polyglot country of black, white-English, white-Afrikaner, Indian, and Coloured (Mixed-race) nations.  Blacks themselves are divided into Zulu, Xhosa, Sotho, Tswana, and several other nations.  No single group can totally dominate the country, though the Zulu are the largest of the ethnic groups at 23%.

Whites do have a disproportionate influence over South Africa’s economy, government, and education.  It’s easy for angry South African blacks to look at whites in the same way that many of us disgruntled nationalists in the West look at Jews: as exploiters of our country who work against our own interests to advance their own.

Of course, there is a difference between what Western nationalists want and what these angry South African blacks demand: most of the blacks don’t want whites to simply leave them alone to run their countries.  Nor do they want to create their own institutions and businesses to compete against the whites’.  These activists want power and prosperity to be handed to them through imposed quotas, amounting to less whites and more blacks.  Black Economic Empowerment, which has gradually ruined South Africa’s infrastructure, doesn’t go far enough for these students.

Yet the whites must stay in South Africa because they owe blacks for apartheid.  The South African media beseeches whites to work hard and pay their taxes, and don’t worry about the attacks on their culture or the stripping of whatever influence they still have on society.  Or the robberies and the murders.

(Many white students evidently approve of these black student movements, guessing by their presence in many photos of these protests.  Do they know that they are willing accomplices to their own eradication?  Maybe they feel so guilty that they see no further value in themselves as a distinct people.  Looking closely at these whites, most of them have that dim, blank-faced and placid smile as they watch, the one that they plant on their faces in the presence of blacks to show how un-racist they are and to hide their discomfort.  I recognize it because I used to wear that placid-cow mask myself.  Meanwhile the blacks have an open intensity, either of anger or joy, in their faces.  It’s not going to be pretty for these white cattle in the coming years.)


Dim, placid smiles on the whites’ faces to hide their discomfort. Open, intense faces, either joyful or angry, on the blacks’. Will the whites relearn their own intensity before they can be slaughtered like cattle?

South Africa’s welfare depends on white peoples’ money.  Yet, how can whites keep society moving if they can’t find employment?  How will whites remain experts in advanced fields of study if there is no room for them in the universities?  Why will they sacrifice for a country that hates them?

South Africa’s blacks seem confused on this issue.  Can they rule themselves or not?

Of course, we all know the answer to that.

If history is any guide, the country will see more student activism, more street protests from angry black workers and militant students, and more white organizations will meekly cave to black demands.  The government, pandering to this youth, will impose more social and economic justice, which will only drive more qualified whites to abandon the country or force them to join the growing number of poor whites who live in shanty towns.  Crime rates will rise in an already crime-ridden land, and attacks on whites will increase in number and ferocity as well.  All the while, the economy of South Africa will steadily weaken in proportion to its growing share of black empowerment.

And maybe through all of this, the Afrikaner people will rediscover their own nation in time to survive.
